Episode 30: Did it really spoil anything for you?

I was pretty impressed at the "CItizen Kane" reference, because Rosebud being a sled was actually spoiled for me long before I watched it.

And I had no idea Snape killed Dumbledore. I forget what the other spoiler was though. :|

The other spoiler is the Nicole Kidman is a ghost. It's a reference to the movie The Others, a Chilean movie in which nobody speaks Chilean. Which is a movie that I've seen already, so nothing was spoiled for me. Although it's odd he want with the movie The Others...I think a more broad-reaching spoiler would be that Bruce Willis is a ghost, but I guess maybe that's too old...then again, I thought the point was that all YGO:TAS pop culture references are extremely dated.

And yes, everyone knows Rosebud is a sled. Even people who've never even heard of Citizen Kane know that Rosebud is a sled. There are tribes on a small island in the South Pacific that don't even have television who know that Rosebud is a sled. It's just a part of the popular consciousness.

Yeah, I would agree that a spoiler for The Sixth Sense wouldve been more broad reaching, since I've never seen "The Others" and know nothing about it. Though, I was honestly a bit disappointed when I found out that Rosebud was a sled before I saw the movie. I guess I was surpised to see a reference to CK. I know its an extremely famous film, but I'm surpised anyone who isnt a movie buff wouldve known about it. Anyways, the one spoiler that shouldve been added was "And Darth Vader is Luke's father."

I've not met a single person who doesn't know about Snape killing Dumbledore; I've watched The Others and was genuinely surprised about its twist; I've not seen Citizen Kane but if I had discovered that Rosebud was the sled my reaction would have been more like rolled eyes and a sigh rather than surprise.

So nope, it didn't spoil owt.
