This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout 'Save us!'... and Gon's Balls will whisper 'First... comes... rock!' Hah! Made you stare at Naruto's Marshmallow! Pushing the logo off-center to drive TheOcean insane.

I like them, particularly the first three. The fourth was fun...the fifth was beginning to become overkill...I'm afraid he's going to kill the series entirely with the sixth one (its coming out in July). But I do love Eoin Colfer's writing. Fluffy (perhaps that's not quite the word, but ah well) and sharp witted.

I think I liked the series more once Artemis became nice. I think it's... cute. Especially when he's nice to Holly.

I was sad when Root died, because Holly is probably my favorite character and she was sad when he died.

I didn't really like the fifth book, though. It was... eh. It was pretty random and really had nothing to do with the other things that had gone on. At least, I don't think so. It was kinda like that episode of Naruto, where everyone wants to see what's under Kakashi's mask.

Oh, and I don't like Minerva. At all. And I don't like the idea of Artemis being an older brother. And of twins, no less!

Oh, and I totally support Holly-Artemis. Yes, I know she's a fairy and he's a human. But love can overcome things like species... and a huge difference in height. And besides, now they're permanently connected to each other. Isn't that sweet? Artemis and Minerva, for those who might ask, are too alike. Holly and Artemis balance each other out better.

I totally agree. I practically cried when Root died because Colfer had never killed anyone of real significance before that, and I really was not expecting it. It kind of killed The Opal Deception for me.

The fourth and fifth books were kind of ehh for me, although I'll definitely be giving the sixth one a chance, out of love for the first three. I'll always love those.

I have no idea... I assume Artemis goes home to meet the twins and spend with the family he worked so hard to put back together...

I can't wait for June. (I heard that's when it comes out. It's called The Time Paradox.)

I can't wait for the next Artemis Fowl book, I am going to have to read all the others before the next one comes out. Eion Colfers other books are really good aswell which always made a good read while waiting for the next Artemis Fowl book.

I agree. I like The Supernaturalists and Half Moon Detective or whatever that book is called.

And Lois Lowry's The Giver is a good substitute if you don't feel like re-reading Colfer's books for the tenth time.

I don't care for Minerva, either... but somehow I doubt she'll die. I have a feeling Colfer is going to pair her with Artemis.

And I don't remember any humans that have died. I don't think he'll start with Minvera.

Yeah, I agree with most of the Minerva stuff too, she just didn't do enough in the last book, either. She just kind of... waited for Artemis. I hear the next book is probably gonna be the last one. For awhile at least.

Personally, I read the entire series straight through, a few months ago (not all at once, obviosuly, but over the course of 2 weeks), and I thought the later books were as good as the earlier ones. I'm not overly fond of the 2nd one, and the Opal Deception one was a little depressing, almost, but it was still pretty good.

The books are so funny, all the characters are brilliant in their own very different ways.
Has anyone read The Wish List, it's by Eoin Colfer too it's good, it has a supernatural theme as well.

The wish list was good. personally, the only book by Eion Colfer that I think was a waste of time was the supernatualist. my favorite AF book is the eternaty code.

For the movie rumor they were planning to make a movie but it got delayed for awhile so the actor they chose for Artemis has grown up and production is at a standstill-
"Artemis Fowl (Movie)
We know not a lot about the Artemis Fowl movie. For your ease, we've compiled a list of facts, possible rumours and false rumours. Simply scroll down to see them. For the facts, we'll also tell you the source, so you can decide for yourself whether to believe it or not.

Facts
Oscar winning director Jim Sheridan and Simon Carmody are working on the screenplay.

In an e-mail from Eoin Colfer to AFC:

Wed, December 27, 2006 12:10pm
Regarding various developments - the movie is going ahead quickly now - I worked on a treatment for the story with Oscar winning director Jim Sheridan and writer Simon Carmody and Jim is now working on the screenplay. The story is mainly the first book but with a few huge surprises. If Hollywood tells you to do whatever you want... well I couldn't turn that offer down, so expect new adventures.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There's a brand new ending and lots of new one-liners, but the movie will stay fairly faithful to the book.

IMPORTANT UPDATE
Currently, things don't appear to be moving very much, more delays, the usual. We will update you again in the summer when we learn more in our next exclusive EC Interview."

Yeah. It came out sometime in the past two weeks... while I was on vacation... bought it at an out-of-town store... and read it while we were driving. A dumb idea, considering that I get motion-sick, but I just couldn't wait!

And I have reasons to believe it's the last one... but it can't be! It wasn't satisfying enough to be the end!

[ On another note, I'm glad to have a canonnical reference for my favorite pairing, Artemis-Holly. ^_^ ]
