Well, depending on what you mean by standard fangirl faves...(if you count the Mariks and Bakuras as those, then I guess I'm guilty)

Yep, I meant the Mariks and the Bakurae.
I don't hate them by any means, but whenever a character gets a huge amount of fangirl squee I get turned off, a tad. But yeah, they're cool characters...just not my cup of tea.  And yes, Rishid is absolutely an awesome knife-wielding ninja!

According to Google, it's Dark Marik x Rishid. Haha, I like. I'm actually partial to Rishid x Ishizu, but yeah, I can see that one working. Yeah, except Marik doesn't sparkle, he has a better personality, his hair doesn't suck (it rocks), and he doesn't fall for people with no personality. I can't throw in his not gay, because....well, I think since we're talking about this pairing, it should be obvious. no offense to edward fans

I had what was possibly the weirdest dream ever last night XD
I dreamed Rishid was a successful...something (it's never really revealed what he does) in New York, and Mariku is a prostitute. After getting totally smashed, Rishid, for lack of better words, invites Marik over. He finds out that Marik is a prostitute because he's looking for someone who raped and killed his first lover, Ryou. Rishid offers to help him, but the person who finds out tries to kill Marik. Then they find out it's Bakura, and they follow him, and they get lead to a gaint warehouse and OMFG BAKURA IS PRESERVING RYOU'S NEARLY DEAD BODY TO TURN HIM INTO A VAMPIRE yeah it was really weird.

It would make more sense if I mentioned that in this world they have to have a strong mutual bond so Bakura's been talking to Ryou throughtout his comatose state, because people in comas can often hear you.

I think Rishid has actually surpassed Yami Mariku and became my all time favorite character. He's quiet, ninja like, self sacrificitial, loyal, and just plain awesome XD
