Maybe because the IB rant scene should be 'funny', while the Downfall scene is some serious shit in the original.

Oh I loved it! IB was great, ok the middle part wasn't that good. But the first scene is awesome. I'm in love with Christoph Walz as Hans Landa. And I lost my shit when Hugo Stegliz was introduced. Til Schweiger is such an awful actor, but he was perfect for that role. The soundtrack was perfect, thanks to Morricone and the cuts, camera, screen play were good. I enjoyed that movie a lot.

You can watch it on Netflix. I saw the movie before all the spoofs came out.

I think that movie was unnecessary. The plot isn't new (ha ha) and I have no idea what the intention was. Not every nazi was a bad person... Eichinger (the author of the crappy screen play), you don't say! I guess I saw that movie years before the spoofs came out, but that's not really surprising. At least I'm happy that Hollywood didn't made this movie...

I think there's only been one parody that Germans can watch because it doesn't have Hitler speaking at all. It'd be the same if there was a parody of an English film that used foreign subtitles.
