This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout 'Save us!'... and Gon's Balls will whisper 'First... comes... rock!' Hah! Made you stare at Naruto's Marshmallow! Pushing the logo off-center to drive TheOcean insane.

Ok, so I know there are some topics already out there about Harry Potter, but I thought it would be better if there was a topic where you can discuss whatever you want about it. So, here, you can say whether you liked it or not, anything about J.K Rowling (hopfully nice things), maybe some things that should or should not have happened, or discuss theories on what happened to everyone after the 7th book. Maybe even discuss some things that weren't properly explained by Jo Rowling (and you know she did that on purpose) :)
There is a spoiler alert, so I guess it doesn't matter as much to hide what you say, but it's totally up to you!

I'm confused... what's stopping everyone from posting whatever they want in the other Harry Potter threads?

Hey, here's something for you to think about. Remember in the 7th book, Neville pulled the Sword of Gryffindor out of the hat? What I'm wondering is this: How did the sword get there? Didn't the goblins have it?

I guess the sword comes out of the Sorting Hat if any Gryffindor is in dire need of it.... I find it kind of funny because Griphook claims that Godric Gryffindor stole the sword in the first place, and along comes another Gryffindor who steals it again...

I say J.K. Rowling got too rushed and messed up. =P

Now here's something else: What's up with the names of their children? C'mon, Albus Severus? How many dead people's names can you fit onto your children?

It's just so the poor kid can have cool initials and all the Harry/Draco shippers can transfer their affections to Albus Severus and Scorpius and get a cool ship name.

James Potter II should've been named Sirius James Potter. It flows a lot better.

Well, true, their names were a little... odd. But if you lived Harry's life, you would probably do the same thing. I probably would... But I like funny names... I would probably make it so their innitials spelled some random word.

Harry couldn't have killed him in the first book because Voldemort would have survived because of his Horcrux's.....in the 6th and 7th book thats what he starts doing...deystroying all of them...
for those who don't know....
Horcrux's--are pieces of voldemorts soul and while they excist in random objects or things of his choice he has the power to live even when killed.....
so to kill him harry and his friends set out to search and destroy all of them.......

Perhaps Rowling could have left out the epilogue at the end because the end of the last chapter was pretty powerful, but then she'd probably feel obliged to make another book starring Harry, which she doesn't want to do apparently. Either way, I enjoyed every moment of The Deathly Hallows.

Yeah, me too. It was probably my favorite.
J.K. Rowling was actually going to kill Harry, just so people would be sure not to expect another book, and that no one would be able to write their own sequel. But I guess she decided against it in the end.

Is Draco still a total dick at the end, in the epilouge? I can't remember.
He really shouldn't be.

I didn't like how Hedwig died, especially so near the end. I understand Rowling had to kill her off because she wouldn't be much use to Harry and would have to explain where she went. But still, Hedwig was cool and was his 11th birthday present, his first wizard present...

Yeah. Honestly Deathly Hallows wasn't my favorite of the books. It just... I dunno. I didn't feel it was necessary for her to introduce another set of highly magical objects only briefly alluded to in the previous books as a pivotal plot point, when she already had so much to wrap up on. I felt that Draco's role in what happened was just so weak. He just really did so little, considering he's supposed to be Harry's main rival.

I think my favorite books are the 3rd and the 5th and 1st.

Honestly, the series in general just kept getting more and more dark and depressing. I mean, it's I believe the 6th book where Harry's just a total nut, yelling at everyone, etc. I mean, besides for the fairly regular killings of important (and unimportant, in Hedwigs case) characters, she even took out Quiddich, and in the last book she took out virtually all of Howarts itself.

Anyways, I play an online Harry Potter game. (Sorry if this is considered off-topic). It's calledHogwarts: a History It runs off a site called BYOND, it's pretty fun.

Yes, you're right about it getting more depressing. But that happens, when writers need a story, they'll take any random minor thing from something they've written before and change it like it was meant to be there.
But in honesty, I think Rowling was under a lot of pressure, what with her fans demanding so much and her getting tired of it. She has gone a long way from the first book, and althought it probably wasn't intentional, Harry changed a lot and matured, basically.
But him yelling his head off and acting like a jerk in the 6th was quite wierd <img src='/images/emoticons/smiley7.png'>

I actually think Rowling put in those "random minor things" on purpose. She had the final chapter of the seventh book planned out since before she published book #1!

I'm surprised that there is so much fan comics/art/fiction for there children. They were only in one chapter. Still, it is that fandom. I still ahve a hard time figuring out that final duel, how the wand got to be who's owner.

Also, Molly Weasley pwns all bitches.

As for Harry going off his nut at everyone. I agree with what JK did.

Think of this from Harry's point of view. His close friends are talking behind his back. His 'friends' are divided on whether to believe him or not. He is hated by the magical community for something that he can't influence. He has a massive target on him. Dumbledore is drifting away from him. Sirius is dead, the closest thing to a father that he had.

I would be pretty pissed off too. Its a lot of pressure for a Main Character to handle. And we all know what happens to main characters...
